The Ingredients
Makes 4 drinks (plus left over juice)
1 small seedless watermelon (or 1/2 of a large one)
4 limes
3 oz dried elderflower - buy here
honey (or sweetener of your choice)
gin or vodka - my favorites: Reyka Icelandic Vodka, Prairie Organic, & Ocean Organic.





Watermelon Elderflower Juice
Makes 1.5 cups juice
2 cups watermelon
2 tablespoons dried elderflower (or 4 of fresh)
1 tablespoon honey
Directions
In a blender (you can also use a food processor, or Nutri-bullet) combine watermelon, elderflower, and honey. Blend on high for 30 seconds.
Strain through a fine strainer or cheese cloth into an airtight container.
Store for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
Cocktail Recipe
Makes 1 drink
3oz watermelon elderflower juice
1 oz lime juice
2 oz vodka - my favorites: Reyka Icelandic Vodka, Prairie Organic, & Ocean Organic
Directions
Prep your watermelon elderflower juice (recipe above).
Then juice your limes by hand or with a citrus juicer (you should get about 1 oz of juice per lime).
In a pint class with ice, combine watermelon juice, lime, and vodka.
Stir with a long spoon or shake thoroughly with a cocktail shaker. Then strain over ice in your favorite glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel or watermelon slice. Enjoy!
